WILDFIRE MITIGATION SLASH COLLECTION EVENTS
To reduce wildfire hazard in our communities, the U.S. Forest Service, San Carlos Ranger District, and ARWC hosts multiple annual wildfire mitigation slash collection sites. Slash sites are located in areas of the Arkansas River Basin that are at high risk for wildfire. Landowners in fire-prone areas are invited to haul woody material from fire mitigation efforts on their properties to these sites.
Current slash sites are bring offered in the Wet Mountains near San Isabel and Beulah, but new sites will be offered as resources permit. New opportunities will be posted on this page in the future. Read more about how wildfire mitigation works here.
